HIKARU

HIKARU

Description

First harvest 2025

HIKARU is a vibrant and rich dento-hon gyokuro made exclusively with the Yamakai cultivar by Takaki san in Yame. This emerald, needle-shaped tea embodies the wonders of Yame. It has a coating, full-bodied liquor with notes of nori, steamed artichoke hearts, and dried lily. This gyokuro should be steeped, and re-steeped, with care so that you can experience its depth and quality.

Hand-picked and following the traditional covering technique with natural rice straw mats called "sumaki" this Gyokuro is a must-have for all Gyokuro enthusiasts and a wonderful way to start for newcomers on the Gyokuro journey.

Please take extra care with the brewing instructions, as it has to be prepared with a low temperature over a long period of time (2 minutes and half). Can be re-brewed several times like all of our teas with slightly higher temperatures (60C then 70C for a third brew).
